Established in 2012, Michigan Media is the University of Michigan's video production unit. In addition to producing creative and instructional videos, Michigan Media also offers event coverage services. The record group consists of digital video recordings of University of Michigan events that occurred during the Fall 2016 through Fall 2019 terms, excluding the Spring summer session of each year. Particularly well represented are recordings of events associated with the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy; Physics Department of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; Wallace House, home of the Knight-Wallace Fellowships; and TEDxUofM conferences.

The collection consists of digital video recordings of University of Michigan events that took place during the Fall 2016 through Fall 2019 terms. These events include lectures and lecture series, conferences, symposia, and commencement ceremonies. Particularly well represented are recordings of events associated with the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy; Physics Department of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; and the Wallace House, home of the Knight-Wallace Fellowships. The collection does not include recordings of events that occurred during the spring-summer terms.

Advocacy organization officially established to defend the rights of terminally-ill patients. The focus of the organization was directed toward legislative and educational activities. Series in collection include Board of Directors consisting of minutes, correspondence, bylaws and resolutions, and related materials; Educational/Outreach Activity consisting of subject files, newsletters, and press releases; and Legislative/Lobbying Activity which includes correspondence, copies of bills, and statements about legislation.

The records of the Michigan Medical Self-Determination Association are comprised of material documenting its eight-year history from 1984 to 1992. The collection will interest researchers examining the role of citizen groups in securing living will legislation during a nationwide medical advance directive movement. It also depicts the role such groups often play in drawing attention to legislative issues, garnering support, and influencing legislative activity.

A small, wholly volunteer organization, MMSA's energies were focused more on outreach and projects related to its purposes than on maintaining documentation of its efforts. Thus, the material is limited in scope and content.

There are three small series in the collection: Board of Directors, Educational/Outreach Activity, Legislative/ Lobbying Activity.

Unit responsible for fundraising and event programming involving alumni of the University of Michigan Medical Center and Health System. Includes topical files, Medical Center Alumni Society meeting records, and photographs and videotapes of development events and programs, including named professorship dedications.

The collection includes the records of the Office of Medical Development and Alumni Relations, as the Michigan Medicine Office of Deveolopment was known previously (5.5 linear feet). The records date from 1960 to 2001 and are organized into three series: Topical Files, Medical Center Alumni Society (MCAS) Files, and Audiovisual Materials. The records include programs, photographs, minutes, reports and videos reflecting programming and educational activities and the changing organizational structure and mission of the Office of Medical Development and Alumni Relations over time.

The Michigan Medicine (University of Michigan) publications contain materials from University Hospital, University Hospitals, University of Michigan Medical Center (UMMC), University of Michigan Health System (UMHS), C. S. Mott Children's Hospital, and the Women's Hospital. The publications include annual reports, bylaws, brochures, manuals, directories, reports, newsletters, and websites dealing with different aspects of the health system including administration, development, facilities, marketing and outreach, nursing, and services.

The Michigan Medicine publications contain materials from University Hospital, University Hospitals, University of Michigan Medical Center (UMMC), and University of Michigan Health System (UMHS). Though "University Hospitals" is an entity which has existed in the past and does exist concurrently with UMMC and UMHS, it is not treated here as a sub-unit, because it is often used interchangeably with "Medical Center" or "Health System" on publications.

The publications of the Medical School (part of the Health System) and the academic and research departments of the Health System (such as the Department of Surgery and the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Disease) are held in separate publications groups.

The publications collection consists of nine series. Six series deal with different aspects of the health system: Administration, Development, Facilities, Marketing/Outreach, Nursing Services, and other Services. Two series deal with additional hospitals within the University Health System: C. S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Health (Women's Hospital). An additional series contains an archived copy of the Michigan Medicine website.

Volunteer service unit established at the University of Michigan Hospital in 1941. The Volunteer Services program expanded from patient registration and guide services to encompass a number of programs and outreach activities that extend beyond the hospital. The materials in the University of Michigan Health Systems Volunteer Services collection contain information on the service beginning with its formal establishment in 1941. Items include topical files, photographs, and audiovisual materials covering programming, volunteer recruitment, and especially volunteer recognition.

The University of Michigan Health System Volunteer Services collection covers the years from 1937 to 2007. The majority of the material covers the years 1981-1995. The records include some history and establishment information, but a majority of the information deals with the annual volunteer recognition program. There is also a significant amount of photographs, including photographs of individuals volunteering as well as photographs from the annual volunteer recognition program. The collection has been organized into five series: Topical Files, Publications, Volunteer Recognition, Audio-Visual Materials, and Ephemera.

University of Michigan based project founded as a memorial to university students, faculty and staff who died in World War II and dedicated to the study of peacetime applications of atomic energy. Includes miscellaneous pamphlets, annual reports, brochures, bulletins, manuals, newsletters, proceedings, proposals, and reports relating to the project and its sponsored research.

The Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project Publications are divided into two series: Unit Publications and Topical Publications. The bulk of the publications document the early history of the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project from 1949 to 1961.

Unit Publications contain printed material published specifically by the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project. These publications are defined as being widely distributed and may be published at regular intervals. They are arranged by genre of publication. Topical Publications include printed materials published to document specific events or activities such as fund-raising or development or one-time conferences hosted by the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project.

Intended as a living memorial to former students, faculty, and staff who died in World War II, the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project is dedicated to the study of peacetime applications of atomic energy. The records include significant material relating to the origins of the project and extensive documentation of research conducted over the course of nearly fifty years. In addition, the files include correspondence, minutes, reports, development and director topical files.

Records of the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project were received in three major accessions and from three major donors: National Executive Chairman Chester Lang, 1958; Assistant Director Leonard Greenbaum, 1972; and Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project, 2000. In addition, one item, a copy of the Phoenix Project logo, was received from Jacqueline Kolle Haring in 2001. The material is described as two accessions and is primarily comprised of records related to fund-raising, research, and administrative functions. Series include files documenting the history of the project, prospects, donors, research grants, and outreach. Researchers tracking a particular topic should note that there is significant overlap between accessions.

The records of the first two accessions measure three linear feet and date from 1947 to 1959. They are primarily comprised of correspondence, speeches, minutes, financial reports, and research files and are arranged into four series: Chester Lang/National Executive Chairman Files; Fund-raising Campaign; Financial Reports; and Early Research.

The records accessioned between 2000 and 2001 range from 1948 to 1997 and add 46 feet of valuable and significant documentation to the Michigan Memorial Phoenix Project record group. While large portions of the records relate to development and fund-raising aspects of the project, there are also important correspondence, research, and committee files. In addition, the accession includes a rich group of materials documenting the history of the project, as well as files regarding the national and international involvement of Phoenix administrators and scientists in the nuclear energy field.

The records are organized into the following series: History; Minutes of Meetings; Development Topical Files; Director's Topical Files; Ford Reactor; Organizations; Prospects; Donors; Research; and Audio Materials. It is important to note that since the years covered in the development topical files and director topical files series overlap, the researcher is advised to examine both runs for material on a given subject.

Missionary agency of the Michigan Council of Churches. Correspondence, staff reports on local projects, annual reports, treasurer's reports and related printed material; and papers, 1965-1968, of Michigan Migrant Opportunity, Inc. [federally funded organization jointly administered by the Michigan Council of Churches and the Michigan Catholic Conference], including correspondence and reports.

The records of the Michigan Migrant Ministry cover the years 1946 to 1969 with the bulk from 1954 to 1969. One-third of the records consist of committee and project reports from the local community projects. These folders are arranged chronologically with the reports arranged alphabetically by county. The reports contain information about the type and size of the crops in the area, the number and ethnic makeup of the migrants, the types of activities in the communities and personal glimpses of the lives of the laborers. Also included in this series are the annual reports published by the Michigan Migrant Ministry, minutes of the Executive and State Committee Meetings, financial reports, budgets and the minutes of the National Migrant Ministry Meetings from 1954 to 1959.

The records of Michigan Migrant Opportunity, Inc. are part of this collection, also. The records include background information, bylaws of the corporation, executive committee meeting minutes, progress reports and financial reports. Information is also included about the Office of Economic Opportunity and the Title IIIB programs.

The records of the Michigan Municipal League include correspondence with city officials in the period of 1928-1929. These include Laird J. Troyer, mayor of Lansing, Alvah P. Cady, Benton Harbor city attorney, Earnest C. Brooks, mayor of Holland, and Ganson Taggart, Grand Rapids city attorney. There are also staff field reports, 1934-1947; and correspondence, 1944, of the Michigan Municipal Finance Commission, Tax Study Advisory Committee with letters of D. Hale Brake, Harry F. Kelly, George P. McCallum, and E. Blythe Stason. The scrapbooks of clippings are useful for their documentation of league activities.
