This is a collection of photographic contact sheets and negative strips taken by Joe Grimm The photographs have been arranged alphabetically by topic. Principal areas covered include student activities and events, notably athletic contests and musical and dramatic performances.

The Joe Knollenberg papers date from the beginning of Knollenberg's congressional career in 1993, to his final year in office in 2008, and document the work he did as a congressman, including serving on committees, and participating in the legislative process.

The papers of Joe Lee Davis total 8 linear feet of correspondence, course materials, manuscripts of writings, and personal materials documenting his scholarly interests and skills as a teacher. Of added significance are collected family materials: journals and other papers of his father, Lexington, Kentucky journalist R. Lee Davis, his aunt Kate Davis, and his brother T. O. Davis, a motion picture theater manager and unpublished novelist.

Joe Lee Davis was a literary man who loved books and literary discussions. As a young man in Kentucky, he wrote poetry, articles for his father's newspapers, and essays on literary topics. The letters he wrote and received in the 1920s contain exchanges about books read and attempts at descriptive narrative. Davis and his correspondents in this period were honing their skills as writers through the medium of the letter. These letters are always interesting discussions of contemporary life, albeit somewhat pretentious in tone.

The largest portion of the collection are Davis' course materials consisting of files of notes and lectures on various authors, as well as other materials used in his specialized English classes. Of note, too, are manuscripts of Davis' writings, his master's and doctoral theses, and copies and manuscripts of his other writings (journal articles and newspaper book reviews).

The collected family materials are of interest for his father's journals covering family activities and his newspaper career in Lexington, and photographs of motion picture theaters in Kentucky and Ohio managed by his brother, Thomas O. Davis.

Champion prize fighter of Detroit, Michigan. Scrapbooks, 1935-1941 (arranged chronologically by bout), and clippings, articles, and fan letters, 1948-1951, relating to his career as a boxer.

The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings and magazine articles in the period of 1935-1941. The volumes include full-length articles, brief sketches, cartoons and newspaper photographs detailing each fight, the preliminaries, Louis' opponent, the bout itself, and post-fight assessments. The volumes are numbered 1-94; volume 48 was not received.

Soldier from LaCrosse, Wisc., captain of Co. M, 339th U.S. Infantry who served in the Allied intervention in Russia, 1918-1920, the "Polar Bear Expedition." Collection includes miscellaneous citations, orders, and correspondence relating to his activities with the Polar Bear regiment; also photographs.

The papers contain primarily certificates and personal documents. The photographs include pictures of American and foreign soldiers, Russian people and scenes, and naval ships; also pictures of the 1929 memorial services for bodies returned from Russia, Polar Bear Association reunions, and personal photographs. Printed maps have been removed from the collection and cataloged separately.

The O'Neal collection consists of project files from the building of the Power Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Michigan campus and the construction of new gates and other repairs on the four dams on the Huron River in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The collection consists mainly of photographs detailing progress on each project, with some correspondence, construction documents, clippings, and dedication materials. The collection has been maintained in the order received from the donor. Some of the files include comments by the donor on the photographs and explaining the various stages of construction for each project.

Swedish-American author and journalist, of Ironwood, Michigan. Correspondence, manuscripts of poetry and other writings, and scrapbooks containing correspondence, newspaper clippings, and other poetry, concerning the myths of Sweden and Scandinavia and Banér's studies of Michigan Indian lore; also photograph.

The Johan G.R. Banér collection is an especially valuable resource for the study of immigrants in Michigan; it also provides examples of popular folklore during the first half of the twentieth century. The collection is divided into six series: Biographical Information, Correspondence, Manuscripts, Scrapbooks, Publications and Photographs; the material is written in both English and Swedish.

Chapter of the United Spanish War Veterans; organizational records, 1919-1954

The record group is composed of a single series of Organizational records, including minutes, correspondence, membership material, reports, and financial records.

Professor of mechanical engineering at University of Michigan. Correspondence concerning University and departmental business, World War II research projects, the American Society of Civil Engineering, and research projects of the Hamilton Watch Company and Hayes Wheel Company.

The collection consists of correspondence and other professional materials, most relating to his research and other responsibilities at the University of Michigan. Of note are his Reports on automobile wheel tests for Hayes Wheel Company, 1923-1926, and a report on high strength aluminum alloys written during World War II.

John Jacquez was a professor in the University of Michigan's Medical School and School of Public Health and was active in his field of biostatistics. The collection contains correspondence and materials relating to his teaching, research and conference activities.

The papers of John A. Jacquez document his career both as a teacher and a researcher from the 1960s to the 1990s. The collection is arranged into five series, Personal/Biographical, Correspondence, Teaching Material, Research Material, and Conference Material.
