Program founded in 1986 to increase campus awareness of sexual assault and provide counseling and education services to sexual assault victims and the larger campus community. Printed materials include brochures, flyers, manuals, newsletters, and posters.

The Publications (2.0 linear feet) consists of one series: Unit Publications.

The Unit Publications series includes brochures describing how to prevent rape in addition to brochures announcing the annual "sexism in advertising" contest. There are flyers announcing events sponsored by the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) during U-M Sexual Assault Awareness Week. The bulk of this publications group consists of manuals. Noteworthy manuals include those concerning the Center's Crisis Line, and volunteer training manuals. There are also three editions of the Sexual Assault Intervention Handbook, which provides basic information for the SAPAC staff and other individuals who seek to intervene and assist in the recovery of assault victims. There is an almost complete run of the newsletter From the Center dating from 1987 to 1990.

Sheryl M. Szady is a University of Michigan alumna and employee who played an integral role in the evolution of women's athletics at the university. The collection includes meeting minutes, correspondence and other materials from her work with numerous university affiliated organizations including the Friends of the Michigan League, the Kinesiology Alumni Society, and Letterwinners M Club, as well as Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan.

The Sheryl Szady papers include meeting minutes, correspondence and other materials from her work with numerous university affiliated organizations and Interlochen Center for the Arts. The papers date from 1984-2010, with the bulk of documentation from 1997-2007. The collection is divided into two subgroups: University of Michigan and Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Topical files on the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (Micronesia) and educational materials collected by Arthur and Shirley Wolfe, teachers with United States Department of the Interior for the Truk District Education Department.

The collection includes information on the history of the Pacific Islands; travel brochures and maps; local newsletters and brochures, and materials related to education in Micronesia, specifically in the Truk District. From 1974 to 1977, Shirley Monson was the state chair for the Michigan chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW). She was nominating chair of Focus: Michigan Women, which selected delegates to the 1977 National Women's Conference in Houston, Texas. The papers of Shirley Monson concern her various activities with women's organizations. Materials include correspondence, photographs, brochures and flyers, newspaper interviews, and clippings.

Monson's National Organization of Women (NOW) material includes correspondence from the approximately three year period when she was the state coordinator of NOW. The file on International Women's Year material consists primarily of correspondence pertaining to the conference. Also found here are newsclippings that include interviews with Shirley Monson as well as miscellaneous brochures and flyers from various Michigan-based feminist conferences and activities.

Photographs include photos of the International Women's Year conference sessions and delegates; photos of pro-Equal Rights Amendment march in Detroit during 1976 Republican National Convention and of "An Evening for the ERA," Dec. 9, 1977, at Orchestra Hall, Detroit; also informal portrait of Shirley Monson. All photographs are dated between 1974 and 1977.

Silas J. McGregor (1874-1954) was the Captain of Company E of the 34th Michigan Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War. Consists of photos of Iron Mountain, Michigan and, soldiers, including one taken in front of the Central House Hotel. Also includes photos, dated circa 1910-1919, of hydraulic power works in Quinnesec, Michigan.

Papers of the Squier family of Battle Creek, Michigan. Include letters and diary of John E. Hickman, Civil War soldier in Co. C, 13th Michigan Infantry; letters and miscellanea of Theodore L. Squier, Sr., University of Michigan undergraduate student, medical student and instructor ca. 1914-1921 and Nina La Barge Squier, student in the University of Michigan Nurses' Training Program, 1919-1920; and letters and miscellanea of several family members who served in WWII. Also some records of the American Manufacturing Company of Battle Creek, Michigan.

The Squier Family Papers are organized into nine series, eight series of documents related to specific members or branches of the family and one series of photographs.

M. M. and Carme H. Smyser were teachers and missionaries to Japan. The collection includes correspondence, diaries, financial and other notebooks relating to mission activities, and photographs.

The Smyser Family Papers, 1889-1984, document the missionary activities of Martin Mosser Smyser and Carme Hostetter Smyser in Japan. The papers include correspondence, diaries, a variety of financial and other notebooks relating to mission activities, and photographs.

The correspondence consists primarily of letters from M.M. Smyser to his daughter Lois Smyser Sutherland. These contain information on personal and family matters and on events and conditions at Smyser's mission. Also included are several of the reports Smyser sent to mission supporters. There are a number of letters, 1968-1984, from a Japanese scholar relating to the history of the Smysers' missionary work and to the missions of the Disciples of Christ church.

The diaries, 1902-1953, were kept by M.M. Smyser. They deal primarily with personal matters and day-to-day activities at Smyser's mission. The diaries from 1942-1944 contain a few interesting observations on life in Japan during the war from the viewpoint of an American sympathetic to the Japanese cause.

The financial and other notebooks include records of funds received from mission supporters, names of converts, Sunday school rosters, notes for sermons, and a record of Smyser's correspondence. There is also a parish record from Masardis, Maine, 1911-1914 and a volume of lecture notes taken by Carme Hostetter, 1889.

The photographs include portraits of the Smyser family, group photographs of American missionaries and Japanese students at Carme Hostetter's mission's in Tokyo, 1892-1897, and Sendai, 1900-1905, and from Smyser's Yokote mission, 1914-1954. There are also a number of scenic photographs.
