Annual Reports/Executive Committee Meetings
The record group begins with a series of Annual Reports/Executive Committee Meetings files. The Annual Reports are published summaries of activities but only two reports have been found. The bylaws are important for stating something about the organization and function of the state central committee. Of most value are the files of executive committee meeting files. Ranging in date from 1965 to 1978, the files detail the specific actions and development of programs within the party.
Anti-Discrimination Ordinance
The Anti-Discrimination Ordinance series, approximately 0.5 linear feet, is arranged mostly chronologically and contains correspondence, agendas and minutes for city council and other city commission meetings, and texts of prepared speeches that Duty delivered at these meetings in favor of passing Ypsilanti's anti-discrimination ordinance. There are also folders of newspaper clippings and miscellaneous materials relating to Duty's pro-ordinance activities.
Appropriations Committee
The Appropriations Committee series (1998-2008, 3.25 linear feet) documents Knollenberg's work with the House Appropriations Committee, where he served on numerous subcommittees including Foreign Operations, Labor Health and Human Services, Military Construction, Transportation Housing and Urban Development, and Veteran Affairs.
Arbitration Case Files
The Arbitration Case Files contain a non-random sample of a twenty-five linear foot series in the original accession. The files selected document the arbitration cases which were published, thus ensuring that the parties do not expect the complete confidentiality of the record of the arbitration proceedings. There are three cases represented here: a 1970 case between the City of Birmingham (Michigan) and the City of Birmingham Firefighters, a 1985 grievance by UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers) Local 876 against Kroger, and the Wayne State Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) grievance against Wayne State University in 1975.
