The collection contains a map (not drawn to scale) drawn by Henkelman showing Toulgas, Archangel District, Russia with notes describing the battle of Nov. 11-14, 1918.

Biographical / Historical:

William Henkelman, of Wheeling, West Virginia was a private in Company B., 339th U.S. Infantry during the American intervention in North Russia, the "Polar Bear Expedition."

Acquisition Information:

The collection was donated by Mrs. Paul Baker, of Essexville, Michigan, in 1966 (Donor No. 4044 ).
