The collection consists of fifty transcripts of oral history interviews relating to political and social protests in Ann Arbor in the 1950s and 1960s. Topics of discussion in the interview include civil rights demonstrations, draft resistance and other opposition to the Vietnam War, feminism and the equal rights movement, alternative lifestyles, gay rights, the drug culture, student rights, and the influence of rock and roll music. Michigan chapter of the national Older Women's league organization, founded in 1982 by Janet Good, with goal of improving the lives of older women by means of political advocacy. Records include correspondence, minutes and videotapes on history and goals of OWL, also includes some records of Farmington Hills chapter.

This collection primarily documents the history and activities of the Michigan state OWL organization (OWL Michigan) and the local chapter in Farmington Hills. The OWL records consist of four series, OWL Michigan, Farmington Hills Chapter, Royal Oak Chapter, and Videocassettes. Most of the records are self-explanatory.
