The bulk of the Eric Stein collection relates to his research and writings, and his career as a law professor at the University of Michigan. The papers, dated from 1933 through 2012, have been arranged topically into eight series: Biographical, Ford Foundation, Correspondence, Courses, Topical Files, Writings, Czech Constitution, and Research Materials.

The Eric Stein papers consist of his writings, correspondence, and biographical material, spanning his early professional career in the military in the 1930s, through his death in 2011, but primarily focusing on his career as a professor of law at the University of Michigan. The materials received by Stein were donated in three main installments and as such are arranged in this manner. Many of the series contain materials from multiple accessions, but the larger series, such as the correspondence and topical files, are arranged in multiple sub-series. Because sub-series are arranged by accession, there is some overlap in subjects covered as well as dates of material.

This is a collection of reprints and pamphlets written by Jesse Siddall Reeves and accumulated from different sources. The collection is arranged alphabetically by title name.

Chairman of the department of political science at University of Michigan. Correspondence, reports, manuscript articles, book reviews, lecture notes, and miscellaneous papers concerning family affairs and his academic interests in political science and international law.

The Reeves papers largely concern JSR's activities as professor (also chairman) of the University of Michigan Department of Political Science from his appointment in 1910 until his retirement in 1937. The great bulk of the collection consists of Reeves' correspondence. With this is a smaller series of such other materials as lectures, research materials, professional organizational materials. As an aid to accessing the correspondence, a selective index of correspondents and subjects has been prepared and is appended to the following containing listing.

The papers of William Warner Bishop, Jr., covering the period from 1928 to 1987, consist of six linear feet of correspondence, course materials, addresses and professional papers. The collection has been arranged into six series: Biographical/Personal; Addresses, Papers, etc.; Associations; Professional Correspondence; and Course Materials. The collection relates mainly to Bishop's study and teaching of international law. Among the more personal files are materials relating to Bishop's lifelong activity with the local area Boy Scouts.
