Allan F. Smith (1911-1994) was a law professor and former dean of the University of Michigan Law School, and was an active member of the law faculty at U of M from 1947 to 1982. The Allan F. Samuel D. Estep (1919-2006) was a professor at the University of Michigan Law School from 1948 to 1989. He was a leading scholar in atomic energy law, co-authoring a number of books on atomic energy and weapons law. The Samuel D.
