Folk Speech features a variety of topics about slang and common speech used by students/individuals inherent to the University of Michigan or young people as a whole, and language usage that is generally not considered official in the English language. Some examples of topics covered include naming conventions in fraternities and sororities, slang, lingo, toast making among the Jewish community, conventions of sports radio broadcasters, and language used in stoner culture.
