Topical File
The Topical Files series an artificially created alphabet of materials drawn from various sources pertaining to the work of the Board of Regents. There are several subseries chronologically bounded of Topical files (1817-1970, 1949-1969, 1954-1983, 1958-2008) reflecting various accessions of material. There may be some overlap of between subseries.
Among the most significant topics in the 1817-1970 subseries is a large body of papers relating to the Douglas-Rose controversy--concerning a deficit in the accounts of the chemical laboratory, ca. 1875-1880. Other material of note includes 1928 file relating to the founding dates of the university and the presidential search of 1925.
Later additions to the series cover a wide range of the regent's business including extensive files on the revision of the Regent's by-laws.
