Subject file

The Subject file, arranged alphabetically, includes correspondence with Wells' many friends and colleagues as well as other files detailing his scholarly interests and organizational activities. There are, for instance, extensive files relating to his analysis of new editions of dictionaries, particularly Webster's New World Dictionary 1953 edition, to his participation with the Michigan Committee of Americans for Poland, and to his interest the usage of the English language.
