Arranged alphabetically by name of city, the Post Office series is a selection of the files maintained by Hoffman documenting the politics behind the selection of postmasters for the numerous post offices within his district. As the selection process was often routine and of like character, this file has been sifted to include the larger cities in each of his six counties and a sampling of the smaller post offices.
