The James J. Duderstadt subseries (2.7 linear feet) provides some sense of his administrative duties and concerns as dean (1981-1986). Some of the major issues which are documented here are the response of the college to advances in computer and other technologies; efforts to encourage a more diverse student body; construction plans on North Campus; and coping with funding problems.
