[Part 1]
1985 Accession
In the summer of 1985, the Detroit Urban League added materials to its holdings at the Michigan Historical Collections. These materials, comprising thirteen linear feet of records, document the later 1960s and the 1970s, although there are some materials dating as early as 1926. The materials are especially strong in documenting the activities of the D.U.L. in the early 1970s. They have not been interfiled with earlier records. Thus, there may be considerable overlap with documents arranged in the earlier accessions.
Films, 1965-1975
The Films series consists of several brief (15 to 30 second) clips and one film produced in cooperation with National Bank of Detroit title "The Bank is Open to You" which explores opportunities for African Americans in the banking industry. The films have been digitized and are available for viewing on DVDs in the Reading Room; digital files can be requested via http://bentley.umich.edu/research/duplication/
