Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, 1964-1993
The Center for Research on Learning and Teaching was established by the faculty as a resource for improving the quality of teaching at the university. Its areas of support include: consultation, project funding, workshops and colloquia, faculty orientation, teaching assistant training, course evaluation, computers and teaching, testing services, and instructional research and development. Brown served as CRLT director from 1983 to 1994, replacing Wilbert McKeachie. Both the Residential College and Inteflex were developed by the CRLT and Brown was instrumental in both institutions.
