Personal and Correspondence consists of three subseries. One contains biographical information about Leonard including articles written about him and articles written by him. The second, and largest subseries, is made up of general correspondence that is not directly related to any of the other topical series. Since there is substantial overlap between these correspondence files and the subject files, the researcher is advised to consult both this subseries in addition to the subject files for all of Leonard's correspondence on a particular topic. The last subseries consists of speeches, drafts of speeches, and notes and background material. An index to the more important correspondents represented in this and the following series has been prepared and is available at the library.
