The 1954-2004 subseries of Topical Files contains material from multiple accessions that were received by the Bentley between 2012 and 2017, and are arranged alphabetically by subject. These records primarily document Stein's involvement in professional organizations, committees, and conferences. One of the main focuses of the subseries, the American Society of International Law (ASIL), consist of proceedings and transcripts of presentations and workshops in which Stein took part. Another focus of the subseries is material related to the Committee on Legal Education Exchange with China (CLEEC). These records contain correspondence between members of the committee as well as notes taken by Stein on how to foster and execute the program at the University of Michigan. Another concentration of the subseries includes Stein's personal notes and articles on the European Communities, the European Economic Community, and the European Union.
