The Speeches and Presentations for the years 1998-2008 (box 19) contain notes, outlines, speeches, and background material for presentations made by Gilbert Omenn before various groups. The files are chronologically arranged by the date of the presentation. Few of the files contain full speeches, but the background information and Power Point slides provide insight into issues and policies relating to the medical and health sciences. Burgeoning work in the life sciences is well represented within the files. The presentations and speeches include those before campus groups as well as external audiences and organizations. Of note is the complete speech delivered by Omenn at the December 2001 commencement at Grand Valley State University. The 2009 accession (boxes 44and 46) added speeches and presentations made by Robert P. Kelch, including State of the Health System addresses, fundraising campaign addresses, and Leadership Day presentations.

The Committees series (6 linear feet), 1998-2002, includes the meeting minutes of two committees. The bulk of the series is composed of the minutes of the Clinical Executive Committee (CEC), previously called the Hospitals' and Health Centers' Executive Committee (HHCEC). The CEC is an important decision-making committee for the University of Michigan Health System. There are two sets of minutes from 2000-2002. One is the official set of minutes, and the other are the minutes of chairman Gilbert Omenn. Omenn's minutes have some notations, and some of the attachments to the minutes are different between the two sets. The series also includes the minutes of the EVPMA Senior Staff Meetings, previously called the University of Michigan Health System Leadership Meetings. Accessions from 2007 and 2012 added records for additional committees, including the Senior Leadership Council, the Health System Executive Group, the Michigan Healthy Community Advisory Council, the Michigan Healthy Community Initiative, and the Central Executive Group. These accessions also expanded on the records for the Clinical Executive Committee and Senior Staff meetings.
