The U.S. Military series (.3 linear ft., 1942-1944) contains notebooks from Harlan Hatcher's military service from 1942 to 1944. Included is a copy of "How To Stay Alive," edited by Harlan Hatcher in 1943. Photographs from this period are included in the Audio and Visual Materials series.

The Retirement series (2 linear ft., 1968-1998) consists of five subseries: Clippings, Correspondence, Organizations, Speeches, and Travel.
