ATLAS, 1997
The subseries ATLAS, 1997 currently contains only one document, a draft of a proposal for the University of Michigan to become involved in the ATLAS research project. Since 1997, Neal and the University of Michigan Physics Department have been extremely involved in this project; hopefully, future acquisitions to the collection will reflect this involvement.
Teaching and Academic Administration, 1966-1997
The series Teaching and Academic Administration, 1967-1997 (12.25 linear feet) documents Neal's career as an instructor and administrator at three universities, and has been organized accordingly into the following subseries:University of Indiana, 1966-1981 ;State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook, 1981-1986; andUniversity of Michigan, 1987-1997 .
Indiana University, 1966-1981
The subseries University of Indiana, 1967-1981 documents Neal's positions at that school as an Assistant, Associate and full Professor of Physics, and the Dean of Research and Graduate Development. Of particular note in this subseries are Neal's annual faculty activity reports, and full sets of his materials for undergraduate physics courses he taught in the 1970s, including upper division courses on circuitry and computer technology. Correspondence in this subseries is divided between the Physics Department, which includes general correspondence such as letters of recommendation, and Research and Graduate Development, which contains correspondence specific to that office.
