Philippines Ambassadorship, 1955-1956

1 linear foot

The Philippines Ambassadorship series (1955-1956; 1 linear ft.) contains materials that provide only a general picture of Ferguson's tenure as ambassador. Most of the correspondence, organized alphabetically by last name, concerns visits to the islands by various individuals, social functions to which the Fergusons were invited, or events of a personal nature that were of interest to the Ambassador and his wife. As with much of Ferguson's correspondence, any thoughts on his role or duties as ambassador are stated only in the broadest of terms. The researcher might be interested in the Diary, which is actually a daily listing of the Ambassador's appointments, and in the three scrapbooks, which contain clippings about the Fergusons taken from Philippine newspapers.
