"Traverse City" (15), 1958-1969, offers fragmentary materials on Interlochen's relations with its home area. Included is a geography master's thesis (1965) on the Camp's economic impact. Dealings with federal officials and units are detailed in "United States Government"(16), 1934-1977. Matters covered include the Federal Music Project (1937-1948), operational problems during World War II, postwar construction projects, the Jet Air Base controversy (1954-1957), and the HEW grant for an Honors Musicianship Project (1964-1968). Michigan congressional leaders are well represented in the correspondence.
