The local government subseries consists of fifteen linear feet of correspondence from the varying levels (county, city, township, or village) of local government. These materials are arranged alphabetically by locale. This subseries consists of local officials' contact with the state executive and the executive branch response, usually from Connie Shorter or Leslie O'Reilly. Much of this is of a routine nature, but there are some substantive materials. The subseries as a whole provides insight into the process of intergovernmental relations
