The department subseries consists of four linear feet of materials arranged alphabetically by department. As one might expect given the legal thrust of this office, the thickest and richest materials are found in the departmental files of the attorney general, corrections, and state police. Surprisingly, the files provide substantive documentation on the citizens' review committee on civil service and the departments of management and budget and public health.
