Regents Communications, Reports, and Petitions, 1852-1962
Regents Communication, Reports, and Petitions (0.5 linear feet, 1852-1962) is comprised of two files: Regents Communication, and Reports and Petitions. Regents Communication consists of a chronologically arranged file of the Law School's communications to the Regents from 1910 to 1962. The Reports and Petitions, 1852-1924 (scattered dates), although fragmentary in terms of coverage, contains some of the oldest material in the record group, including some documents that predate the School's founding. One, written in 1852, is a petition from 50 citizens requesting the university to establish a law school. Other documents include a report from 1859 outlining the proposed law department, and an 1862 contract for the construction of a law building.
