The Scrapbooks (1991, 0.5 linear ft.) were compiled for Bassett upon his retirement from the University of Michigan in 1991. The scrapbooks include photographs, cards, letters, programs, and clippings covering his career in music and his time at the University of Michigan.

The Sound Recordings consist of reel-to-reel tapes, cassette tapes, and phonograph discs of Bassett compositions. Some of the recordings are commercially produced; others are recordings of premiere and subsequent performances of his work. In addition, there are a few recordings of some of his public lectures, including his Russel lecture.
