The Collection Management and Development Committee Council (CMDC) series, 1982-1999 contains files, organized alphabetically, relating to the activities and functions of the CMDC. The CMDC is comprised of seventy subject specialists who are responsible for resource acquisitions, collection management, and service for their designated areas of subject responsibility (University Library, Collection Development Overview). Along with several files containing meeting agendas, minutes, and background materials, there are also files documenting the committee's involvement in library events and policy development. Of particular interest is the increasing involvement with the acquisition and management of electronic resources. Some files referring to this issue include the files on the Campus Wide Information System (CWIS), the Digital Library Project, Electronic Journals, the Electronic Resources Handbook, JSTOR, and Web Sites Cataloging.
