The 1950-1957 subseries contains the office files of library directors Rice and Wagman. The materials concerning Frederick Wagman's work with the National Union Catalog (boxes 52 and 75) and the National Library of Medicine (boxes 114-115, 142) are particularly interesting. Wagman's daily diaries for 1953 to 1957 are found in box 126. These diaries served both as appointment books and notebooks in which Wagman recorded brief analyses of the meetings he attended.
