Craine's papers cover his career from the beginning of his professional life as a researcher for the U.S. Government in the field of natural resources management in 1938, to his retirement as a professor emeritus of the University of Michigan in 1974. The series included Biographical Materials, Education, Professional Life, and Papers and Publications.
The second series, Education (1937-1956) contains correspondence and degree materials from the University of Wisconsin, Syracuse University, and University of Michigan.
The papers kept in the Professional life series (1938-1973) document Craine's career. Most of them are applications for federal employment. There is also here a collection of Craine's course materials at the University of Michigan.
