Series I television programs consist of independent, multi-part programs broadcast as part of the University of Michigan Television Hour, 1955-1980. The early programs were recorded as kinescope negatives and were later produced as 2-inch and 1-inch videotapes. The programs ranged from 5 to 30 segments, each segment being 30-minutes in length. The subject matter covered a wide range of topics and frequently featured university faculty as hosts or guests. The programs were thirty minutes long.
