The Interim Review and Promotion Board, at first called simply the Promotion Board, evaluated the academic performance of medical students and recommended that a student be promoted to the next year of study or that the student seek remedial help or counseling. The minutes often contain very frank assessments of students' academic records and of their psychological and social adjustment to medical school. This subseries is not open for research.
The Bio-Medical Research Council (BMRC) is an inter-departmental committee that reviews faculty research proposals in the bio-medical field. The BMRC minutes include research proposals, budgets, and the Council's evaluation of proposals. The Computer Advisory Committee ascertained Medical School and Hospital computer needs and coordinated medical computing activity with the University Computing Center. The Michigan Association for Regional Medical Planning (MARMP) and the Wayne County General Hospital (WCGH) Senior Advisory Group subseries both complement records from the earlier accession.
