Container Feature 1: Girls in Science and Engineering (GISE), a program run through Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), is a week long summer program for middle school girls focused on hands-on activities that are educational, fun and challenging. The "campers" elect a "Focus Project" in a particular area of study (e.g. chemistry, computer science, engineering, human genetics, physics, and robotics.) The focus projects are planned and taught by U-M faculty, staff and students. During the week, the campers explore the U-M campus, tour dynamic labs and learn about science and engineering careers.
