A small series of various files, the Miscellaneous series (1949-1976; 4 linear ft.) includes a small quantity of materials from the period before Hart came to the Senate, when he was in state government as State Securities Commissioner and Lieutenant Governor. One linear foot of material relates to Hart's work as a member of the National Commission on the Cause and Prevention of Violence in 1969. In addition there are microfiche copies of portions of the Hart papers, mainly copies of speeches, press releases, and Congressional Record statements. Filmed in a random order and without an easy-to-use index, the researcher is instead directed to the hard copy of the PRESS series for the needed information.
