The Historical Files series consists of material which predates the founding of the Office of Academic Affairs but includes subjects similar to those found in the Central Files subgroup. Material on the Netherlands Visiting Professorship, for example, dating from 1954 to 1962, is included in the historical file, whereas material on the same subject from later years can be found in the Central Files or Staff Files subgroups.
