The Diaries And Notebooks series includes eighteen diary volumes, a scrapbook of clippings and congratulatory letters presented to Shelley upon her 87th birthday, a student notebook from 1943, and several miscellaneous notebooks. Most of the diaries contain only brief and scattered entries. The earliest volume, covering 1936-1939, is a notable exception. This volume contains longer entries which discuss her marital difficulties and separation, her problems in writing novels and poems, and her citizenship case.
