The series Staff Files series (8 linear feet, 1984-1994), is comprised of material created or compiled by the assistants to the Vice Provost including special staff projects such as the Health Services Research Survey, and the "Archives of the 80s." The Health Services Research Survey was an effort to identify clinical effectiveness and outcomes research by soliciting copies of completed studies, grants, articles and protocols in order to catalog health services research activity. The "Archives of the 80s" was a related effort which asked departmental chairmen to identify key developments and provide records which could be used as sources for a proposed history of the Medical Center. Other records include correspondence and financial records of the Coalition for Fair Capital Reimbursement (CFCR), a political advocacy group focused on legislation relating to the Medicare prospective payment systems for hospitals with major replacement projects. Coalition members included the University of Michigan, the University of Minnesota, Mt. Sinai Medical Center and other New York hospitals. Development and fundraising files are also present, although individual donor files are restricted.
