Papers of several generations of Laramy and DeBlonde families of Grand Rapids, Mich. Correspondence constitutes most of the collection. Of special interest are Richard C. Laramy Sr. World War II-period letters written to his family, as well as letters written by James E. Laramy as a Univeristy of Michigan student in 1969-1972. Also included family photographs and photos of the members of the Grand Rapids Central High School Class of 1902, WWII regimental reunion materials and military papers, blank postcards depicting locations in Michigan, as well as a small amount of University of Michigan miscellanea.

The collection includes correspondence, photographs, and other materials that document the lives of two Grand Rapids, Mich. families. The Laramy family materials are more prominent in the collection.

Group of University of Michigan students and other Ann Arbor, Michigan, residents formed to support progressive causes in Latin America and oppose U.S. government policies there; flyers, posters, press releases, position papers, photographs, and the group's journal La Palabra; also collected records of predecessor organization, Science for the People, and Farm Labor Organizing Committee, a support group within SFP.

The records of the Latin American Solidarity Committee comprise five series: Latin American Solidarity Committee (1981-1989); Science for the People (1970-1983); Ann Arbor FLOC Support Group (1979-1985); Miscellaneous Organizations (1977-1985); and Photographs. The records span from 1970 to 1989, but the bulk of the material falls between 1974 and 1983. The majority of the records represent the Science for the People series. The files are arranged alphabetically by topic within each series.

Feminist, active in various women's rights organizations; biographical information files relating to involvement with ERAmerica or W.O.M.E.N. (Women Organized to Meet Existing Needs)

The Laura Carter Callow papers document her career as an advocate for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment and her involvement in such organizations as ERAmerica and W.O.M.E.N (Women Organized to Meet Existing Needs). The papers are divided into three series: Personal, ERAmerica and W.O.M.E.N.

The Laurene Alice Wallace photographs include copy print photographs and photocopies of postcards. These include views of buildings, street scenes, and farm equipment in Carsonville, Michigan.

Research materials used by Laurie Palazzolo in writing of her book Horn Man: the Polish-American Musician in Twentieth-Century Detroit (Detroit, Mich.: American-Polish Music Society, 2003). The collection sheds light on the history of 20th century Polish-American musical landscape of greater Detroit.

The collection documents the history and repertoire of Polish folk music bands in the greater Detroit area as well as professional careers of musicians. The records date primarily from the 1940's until 1980s. Materials dated 1990s-2000s are primarily transcripts of interviews taken by Gomulka Palazzolo. Records include correspondence, business contracts, performance schedules and programs, sheet music, scanned copies of photographs, copies of Keynote magazine, biographical information and interviews of musicians, performance advertisements, and recordings. The records are arranged into five series as follows: Research files, Detroit Federation of Musicians, Sheet music, Sound recordings, and Visual materials.

LaVerne Jones was an employee of the Michigan Bell Telephone Company. The materials include board of directors minutes, correspondence, publications, reports, maps, and photographs.

The LaVerne Jones Collection contains records documenting the Michigan Bell Telephone Company's history, primarily in the first half of the twentieth century. The records contain correspondence, publications, reports, maps, photographic materials, and several miscellaneous documents.

Correspondence includes topics such as audits, stock, legal issues, rate controversies, organizational changes, and government nationalization of the telephone system in 1918-1919. Much of the correspondence is addressed to or signed by Mr. A. von Schlegell, general manager.

Prominent publications include telephone directories at the state, county, and local levels; a history of the telephone in Michigan; several issues of "The Michigan Bell" magazine; an engineering bulletin; and a manual of telephone services.

Reports consist of annual company reports, topical reports such as one on inventory and appraisal, and a large work entitled "Histories of Michigan Bell Telephone Company Exchanges."

Miscellaneous records include research documents relating to the company's formation, early history, and organizational structure as well as board of directors minutes from the Valley Home Telephone Company at the time it was acquired by Michigan Bell in 1922.

The maps consist primarily of base maps which are marked with telephone lines and proposed extensions of lines, as well as boundaries of areas serviced by Michigan Bell. Mapped areas include Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Benton Harbor, and the Bay City-Saginaw area, as well as the state of Michigan as a whole

Photographic materials include both prints and negatives and feature mostly company facilities and equipment such as transformers and switchboards. There is also a photo celebrating the consolidation of the Michigan State Telephone Company and the Valley Home Telephone Company in 1922. Also contained in this collection are photos of telephone poles being transported by train and a Michigan central train wreck.

Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, Regent of the University of Michigan, Michigan Supreme Court justice. Political files include activities as Republican State Chairman and his involvement in the presidential campaign of Nelson Rockefeller (1964) and George Romney (1967-1968); also files from his service as regent of the University of Michigan (1969-1975) and justice of the Michigan Supreme Court (1975-1977).

The Lawrence Lindemer Papers contain correspondence, memoranda, official reports, newspaper clippings, photographs, and an audio tape documenting the political and legal career of Lawrence B. Lindemer. While the entire collection spans from 1954 to 1982, the bulk of the records date from 1964 to 1976 with an additional cluster of records dated 1981-1982.

The collection has been divided into four series: Political files; Regent of the University of Michigan; Legal Career, including Michigan Supreme Court; and Other materials. The Lindemer files are especially valuable for their documentation of Lindemer's activities within the Republican Party, as state chairman, as chair of the Midwest Nelson Rockefeller campaign for President in 1964, and his involvement in the presidential candidacy of George Romney for President in 1968.

The Lawrence D. Hiett photograph collection contains photos of student activities, and a photo of the "Literary College Regiment," from 1917.

China expert, worked for Foreign Policy Association and American Institute of Pacific Relations, traveled extensively in China 1946 interviewing many leaders Communist and nationalist parties, traveled to China again in 1973, author of numerous books and articles on China, came under attack by the McCarran Committee's Senate investigation following Chinese revolution. Papers include correspondence, notes and drafts for writings, transcripts of radio broadcasts, transcripts and other material relating to the McCarran Committee investigation and photographs.

Lawrence K. Rosinger's papers document his research interest in far eastern studies in the 1940s and early 1950s, his two trips to China (in 1946 and 1973), as well as his activities during the McCarthy era.

Lawrence (Larry) K. Snider is a professional photographer who received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan in 1960 and 1963, respectively. The collection includes two photographs of John F. Kennedy speaking outside Ann Arbor Station in 1960.

The Lawrence K. Snider photographs collection consists of two oversize 12" x 15" black-and-white prints depicting photographs of John F. Kennedy speaking at Ann Arbor Station on October 15, 1960, the day after his Peace Corps announcement. The photographs were taken by Snider and bear his signature.
