Photographs, dated 1940s-1990s (scattered dates), include group photos of Ypsilanti African American chapters of American Legion and Freemasons; photos of Ypsilanti community leader John Burton; snapshots from Million Man March.

Soldier with C-Company, 307th Engineering Platoon, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, in Vietnam, includes recorded letters sent home while stationed in Vietnam, 1968-1969; and photographic snapshots of Shepard, other members of his company, and the areas in Vietnam where they were stationed.

The Robert Shepard collection includes recorded letters (18, 3-inch reel-to-reel tapes) sent home while stationed in Vietnam, 1968-1969; and photographic snapshots of Shepard, other members of his company, and the areas in Vietnam where they were stationed. The Photogaphs consist of two photo albums and two envelopes full of loose photographs as well as scans of the photo albums created by the donor.

The recordings consist of 18 audio letters sent to his family from Vietnam. These were sent through the army mail's "Voices from Home" program using 3M's "Living Letters" brand.

Staff photographer for University of Michigan News and Information Services and contract photographer for the University of Michigan Athletic Department. Includes negatives and contact prints of game action photos of UM athletic competitions, 1978-2000 and some personal and family photos.

The Robert Kalmbach photograph collection consists primarily of 35mm negatives and contact sheets of University of Michigan athletic competitions and represents his work as a contract photographer for the Athletic department. He shot nearly every home football game between 1969 and 1998 and generally traveled to Notre Dame, Michigan State and Ohio State away games,. He also photographed most men's home basketball and hockey game games and several games or matches each season for other sports. His photos include some to the classic images of Michigan athletics and have been widely published in Athletic Department Media Guides, game programs and other publications.

The photos are primarily black and white, though after the mid 1980s the football photos frequently include one or more rolls of color shots. the photos are arranged by sport and thereunder chronologically by year and event. For each event the negatives have been placed in protective sleeves with matching contact sheets based on roll numbers assigned by Kalmbach. For football games (and occasionally other games) with multiple rolls, the numbering system does not always correspond to the actual sequence of the game. Some of the sports photos are identified as being taken by John Heafield, another News and Information Service photographer who occasionally worked with Kalmbach. The athletic photos are organized by sport and thereunder chronologically.

The collection also includes a small number of slides and transparencies of athletic events.

Specialist in the area of international forestry with the U. S. Forest Service. Personal and professional files; also publications, speeches, and other writings; and photographs.

The Robert K. Winters papers document his career with the Forest Service and reflect his interests in forestry as an international science and the history of forestry. The papers span the years 1923-1986 with the bulk of materials covering Winter's professional interests in a somewhat uneven manner. The strengths of the Winter's papers rest in his travel notes and diaries, his documenting of the formation of the International Union Society of Foresters (IUSF), the materials related to The Forest and Man, and the transcript of his oral history. Winter's duties as liaison officer to the War Production Board, his years as Chief of Central States Economics Research Division, and his service with Forest Products Marketing Research are not well documented by these papers. Similarly Winter's personal life is only thinly documented.

The Winter's papers are arranged in three groups: Personal; Professional; and Publications, Speeches and Writings. Within these groups, materials are arranged in a rough chronological order.

Letters to his parents concerning in part his student life at the University of Michigan in the 1940s, his war-time experiences as a naval officer in the Pacific theatre during World War II, and his career as a journalist in Europe from the late 1940s to the mid-1970s; student writings; dispatches written for Time and Fortune; and photographs.

The Robert Ball papers are roughly divided into two subgroups according to the focus of material, personal or professional. Within this framework, the personal papers are arranged in series by type then by chronological order. The professional papers are arrayed in strict chronological order regardless of type, except for the cassette tapes which stand as a distinct series. Ball's organization of the materials in binders both necessitated and facilitated strict adherence to chronology in ordering the professional papers. The researcher should note that the division of materials into personal and professional groups can not be absolute given the dual nature of reportorial writing. Such writing is both personal and professional. Some blurring of the categories is evident, especially for the years 1948 to 1951 when Ball's nascent career did not permit rigid distinctions to be drawn in the materials.

Property tax reform advocate in the late 1970s and early 1980s from Laingsburg, Mich.; 1982 Michigan gubernatorial candidate, and founder of the Tisch Independent Citizens Party. Tisch was also active in the U.S. Taxpayers Party. Material pertaining primarily to Tisch's three campaigns to lower property taxes, as well as later political activities. Political files series consists of clippings, constituent correspondence, campaign business (official correspondence, minutes, ballot proposals, speeches), press releases, political cartoons, and copies of the Michigan Taxpayer, the newsletter of the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan.

The Robert Tisch Papers consist primarily of material pertaining to Tisch's three campaigns to lower property taxes, his 1982 gubernatorial campaign, and his later political activities with the Tisch Independent Citizens Party (which later became the Michigan Taxpayers Party, a political affiliate of the U.S. Taxpayers Party). The Tisch Papers are made up of two series: Political files and Memorabilia. The collection is composed primarily of press coverage of the Tisch campaigns in the form of newspaper clippings, kept by a clippings service and by Tisch himself. Within files, material is arranged chronologically. Items for which a date could not be ascertained are in the back section of each folder or are in separate folders labeled "undated."

The Robert Twining collection is comprised of photographs, scrapbooks, slides, negatives, and films of Camp Al-Gon-Quian. Located on Burt Lake, Michigan, the camp was founded in 1925 by Herbert H. Twining as a summer camp for boys. The materials in the collection detail activities of Camp Al-Gon-Quian, such as fishing, archery, and horseback riding. There are also materials relating to Camp Mississauga, which was a camp for older boys in Canada.
