Congressional Papers
Congressional Papers is the largest series in the collection and is comprised in part of Potter's public statements. These include news releases, radio and television broadcasts, and various speeches. This series also include legislative files that pertaining to specific pieces of legislation that Potter worked on or took an interest in while serving in the House and the Senate. This series concludes with files and volumes documenting Potter's voting record.
Visual materials
Visual Materials includes both photographs, videocassettes, and video recordings. The photographs consist of personal and family portraits and photographs reflecting his interest in aviation and his career in the military. The videotapes consist of interview with Spencer, the 50th anniversary reunion of his high school class in Virginia, and the ceremony when his mother's home was designated a historic landmark in 1976.

Creative Works
The Creative Works series comprises of both published and unpublished anthologies, manuscripts, and poetry. Of particular note are some of Pacosz' published anthologies including Notes from the Red Zone, Some Winded, Wild Beast, This Is Not a Place to Sing, One River, Greatest Hits 1975 --2001, and In the Outlaw's House. This series also includes poetry readings, visiting artist/poet-in-residence projects, publicity materials, other works, and works published online. The Other Works sub-series includes CDs and DVDs, a bibliography of Pacosz' works as well as those created during her high school and college years. The Works Published Online sub-series includes both print-outs of articles and poems posted online, as well as works available through web sites not maintained by the University of Michigan. Digital object links have been added to this sub-series.
