The papers of Philip J. Elving consist of 1.3 linear feet of mainly professional correspondence, dating from 1939 to 1977. The collection is divided into five series: Associations, Biographical, Journals, Miscellaneous, and the University of Michigan.

Philip Kerr, a professional actor, taught theatre at the University of Michigan from 1984 to 2012. In addition to teaching courses in the Department of Theatre and Drama, he directed many productions put on by the department. This collection includes material documenting these productions and his role as a faculty member.

The Philip Kerr Papers document Kerr's time at the University of Michigan as a professor in the Department of Theatre and Drama. They primarily contain records and publications from productions in which Kerr was director or an actor, as well as administrative records reflecting Kerr's role and experiences as a faculty member within the Department of Theatre and Drama, especially his efforts to improve the quality of the department, such as the establishment of the Bachelor in Fine Arts degree program. The collection is arranged into five series: Biographical, Correspondence, Photographs, Productions, and Topical.

The Philip M. Foisie papers include language textbooks, workbooks, and training materials from the Army Intensive Japanese Language School (AIJLS) of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Foisie used the materials between 1943 and 1944 as a student in the Military Intelligence Japanese Language School (MIJLS), part of the AIJLS. The military ran the intensive language center during World War II to gain a stronger understanding of the Japanese language and culture.

The collection is organized into two series Textbooks and Student Language Workbooks of the Military Intelligence Japanese Language School (MIJLS), part of the Army Intensive Japanese Language School (AIJLS) of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

The Youtz papers consist of notebooks, articles and reports relating to his work as museum director in Brooklyn, New York, and at the Pennsylvania Museum of Art, articles and notebooks, 1922-1924, concerning his work as Home Secretary of the Canton Christian College, Canton, China. Other papers include materials relating to his work with the War Production Board during World War II, his architectural projects and inventions, and photographs. The papers are arranged into three series: Biographical/Personal; Career Materials; and Published Materials.

Nineteen undated 2.12 x 3 photographs, mounted on cardboard, taken during the Philippine American War, 1899-1902. Images include American troops, battlefield scenes, and picturesque views.

Letters describing her life and activities in Germany and Japan; letters from friend Fred Reynolds; and scrapbooks-photograph albums from stays in Europe and Japan.

The collection consists of correspondence, scrapbooks, and photograph albums. The collection is of primary value for its documentation, both printed and visual, of Philomena Falls service with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and for her extended stays in Germany and Japan as a teacher.

University of Michigan chapter of honorary society for students in the biological sciences. Chapter news taken from "The Biologist;" membership information; banquet programs; and miscellaneous material received from the national office.

The record group consists of one linear foot of membership forms, clippings, business correspondence, and memorabilia. The records cover the period of 1916-1970 with the bulk of the materials in the mid-1950s to early 1960s. Valuable to a researcher interested in the origins of the national society and the local chapter, the various files are also useful for anyone interested in student life and student organizations at both a local and national level. Finally, with its extensive membership files, the records can be used to chart the changing face of the student population.

The largest set of files in the record group relate to Membership. These records, from 1916 to 1970, contain the names and other background information of all the active members of the Beta Chapter. Unfortunately, the records for 1941-1961 are missing as these files would have provided an important backdrop to the changing student population of the 1950s. As the records of the 1960s show there were increasing numbers of women joining the organization and assuming leadership positions.

The University of Michigan Photo and Campus Services is a comprehensive photographic unit established to meet the needs of the schools, colleges, departments, and other units within the university as well as individuals within the university community. In existence since 1948, the unit officially became part of News and Information Services in 1997. Services include photographic reproduction and studio and location photography.

The photographic images in the Photo and Campus Services record group represent a small portion of the images created by the unit. The photographic materials are divided into three series based on format: Slides, Portrait Negatives, and Photographs.
