Correspondence and genealogical information concerning the Fyfe family of Lansing, Michigan, including letters from Jennie Fyfe a Civil War nurse and teacher in a Black school in Paducah Kentucky.

This single series collection includes correspondence, March 31, 1864, to June 17, 1866, from Jennie Fyfe to her sister, Mrs. Ellen Mott, and other family members; obituaries of Mary A. Miles; and genealogical notes of Mrs. Della Miles Bertch concerning John Fyfe and other family members. It also includes a photograph of Jennie Fyfe.

This Galens Medical Society record group documents the activities, goals, and membership of the organization from 1914 to 2011. It reveals the changing purpose and membership of the society, its traditional social functions, and its contributions to the medical school, university hospital, and Washtenaw County groups that benefit children. The record group is arranged in nine series: Minutes, Officers' Records and Reports, Activities and Funds, Histories and Constitutions, Membership, Audio-Visual Material, Funds, Service Activities, and Smoker.

Correspondence, speeches, and memos, relating to Ackley's work as presidential adviser and member of President's Council of Economic Advisers during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations; reports and other papers, 1944-1945, concerning his work with U. S. Office of Price Administration; papers, 1950-1953, concerning his career as assistant director of U. S. Office of Price Stabilization; and miscellaneous research notes and University of Michigan course materials.

The Gardner Ackley papers document the career of one of the most influential economists of his time. As a researcher, teacher, and especially as an advisor to United States presidents and various government agencies Ackley helped formulate the direction of governmental economic policy. This collection reflects those activities. Ackley's papers arrived at the Bentley Library in four accessions: 1972 (boxes 1-23), 1988 (boxes 24-28), 2005 (boxes 29-36), and 2011 (boxes 37-38). Generally, papers from the first accession relate to his earlier career, those from the 1988 accession relate to his later career, and those from 2005 from all phases of his professional life. The 2011 accession consists mainly of photographs and other personal materials.

The collection is divided into twelve series: Office of Price Administration/Office of Price Stabilization files; President's Council of Economic Advisors files; University of Michigan files; Professional Correspondence; Meetings and Conferences; Speeches, Journal Articles, Letters to the Editor, Chronological correspondence, Clipping file, Columns and unpublished writings, US Ambassador to Italy, 1968-1969, Later career, and Personal: Photographs, Scrapbooks, etc.

Ann Arbor, Michigan based hydraulic engineer known for his multiple arch dams, hydroelectric plants, and for developing the Hazen-Williams hydraulic tables, designed and consulted on numerous water power and dam projects. Papers include biographical files, material relating to construction of dams and power plants on the Huron River and elsewhere, and papers relating to Michigan Engineering Society.

The papers of Gardner Williams, 1900-1931, include biographical material; papers relating to the history of Michigan Engineering Society; project files detailing construction of Huron River power plants and dams at Argo, Barton, Geddes, Superior, and French Landing; other Michigan project files for dams and plants in Sault Ste. Marie and elsewhere; Detroit Edison consultation materials; engineering reports by, or including comments of, Williams; and photographs.

The Williams papers came from the offices of Ayres, Lewis, Norris and May, Ann Arbor engineering firm. Obviously a fragment, they cover only the period of 1900 to 1931, with photographs spanning the dates 1900 to 1945.

The collection begins with a folder of biographical material and a folder regarding the history of the Michigan Engineering Society. Except for these, the collection divides into four series: Power Plants and Dams, the Detroit Edison Company, Engineering Reports, and Photographs.

The Gargoyle, a University of Michigan humor magazine, was first published in 1909. The collection includes correspondence, ephemera, photographs, reminiscences from Gargoyle staff members, and some original artwork.

The collection includes various materials and papers from former staff members, primarily from John Dobbertin, Jr. Gargoyle editor from 1962-1964. Dobbertin organized many reunions and served as a clearing house for Gargoyle ephemera. Materials include correspondence, ephemera, photographs, reminiscences from Gargoyle staff members, printed material, and original artwork.

The collection has been divided into two series: Manuscript Materials and Printed Materials.

Member of the Michigan National Guard and commander of the 2nd Battalion, 126th Infantry during World War II. Clippings and other materials relating to the New Guinea campaign, the work of the State Office of Veterans Affairs, 1944-1947, and Ann Arbor Golden Gloves Boxing Tournaments, 1937-1939.

The Burlingame papers consists of Personal and Military papers relating to his career with the 126th Infantry of West Michigan 32nd Division. Some of these papers document the march over Owen Stanley Mountains in New Guinea in 1942. There are also clippings relating to Ann Arbor Golden Gloves Boxing Tournaments, 1937-1939.

Biographical material, subject files relating to his career in broadcasting, published writings, speeches, scripts, and audio-visual materials; files document development of television at the University of Michigan, including various administrative and program changes.

The GRG papers span the years 1928-1990 and are divided into five series: Biographical Materials; Early Career; University of Michigan; Writings, Speeches, and Scripts; and Audio-Visual Materials. The collection traces Garrison's long and distinguished career in broadcasting, as well as his many years of teaching. The collection with few exceptions has been maintained in its original chronological order.

Research files of Garry D. Packard, a local historian from Plymouth, Michigan. Documents, articles, spreadsheets, and maps containing research and historical information about churches, graveyards, veterans, and historical businesses in Plymouth, Canton, and other areas in Southeast Michigan.

The collection contains digital files of collected, transcribed, and indexed materials relating to the history of Plymouth Township, Mich., and the surrounding area, including school records, census indexes, birth, marriage and death indexes, cemetery indexes (Parkview, Old Baptist, Presbyterian, Riverside, and Shearer Cemetery), indexes of veterans, and other materials. Also contains maps of Riverside and Old Baptist Cemeteries and a biographical sketch of American Revolutionary War veteran Titus Vespatian Hoisington.

The Gary M. Olson papers largely document the work done at the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University, during the mid-1980s, to create a computer application called the Experimental Research in Electronic Submission (EXPRES). The goal of the work was to create a collaborative, networked application, which would allow researchers - using different hardware and software environments - to electronically share research. The EXPRES application was intended for electronic submission of grant proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The Gary M. Olson papers largely document the work done at the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University, during the mid-1980s, to create a computer application called the Experimental Research in Electronic Submission (EXPRES). The papers do not fully document Olson's career. Rather they give insight a key collaborative project. The papers have been organized into four series: Meetings and Reports; Publicity and Presentations; Publications; and Subject Files.
