The Office of University Audits University of Michigan Organizational Charts record group contains comprehensive sets of organizational charts on paper (FY 1970 -- FY 2003) and digitally (FY 1997 -- FY 2013) as well as a few scattered additional organizational charts including the Business Office (1918), the University (1933), the University Library (1968), and the College of Literature Science and the Arts (early 1970's).

Beginning in FY 1970 the organizational charts were updated annually as part of the Standard Practice Guide. (or SPG. See the Office of University Audits records finding aid for more information.) They provide a snapshot of the University's structure at particular moments in time. Regent's proceedings and University human resource records provide authoritative evidence of when particular people filled specific roles, or when those roles were created.

The digital files consist of PDF files, ordered by year and then by the unit identification number of the unit represented. To find the unit identification number, researchers should consult the accompanying table of contents files or review the current version of the organizational chart online at http://spg.umich.edu/org-charts/organizational-structure (2013). This website is also captured periodically as part of the University Web Archives since September 2012 and archived versions may be viewed by accessing https://archive-it.org/organizations/934.

Organization dedicated to furthering "the art of playing the Hammered Dulcimer" founded in 1963 by Elgia C. Hickok in Michigan. Records include correspondence, minutes, newsletters, programs, event flyers, and oral histories, sound recordings of interviews and meetings, and photographs.

The Original Dulcimer Players Club records document the group's organization and activities from its founding in 1963. The records are arranged into six series: Administrative materials, Publications and events, Articles and newspaper clippings, Miscellaneous, Visual materials, and Audio materials.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Michigan is a volunteer group that is part of the U-M Turner Geriatrics Center. The Institute provides learning opportunities for people aged 50 and over through a variety of formats, including lecture series, study groups, mini-courses, and field trips. Established in 1987 as the Learning in Retirement program and renamed in 2006 after receiving a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation. The records include founding documents, constitutions and bylaws, correspondence, notes, newsletters, flyers and pamphlets, board, committee, and retreat meeting materials, photographs, and other records documenting the Institute's administrative and programming activities.

The University of Michigan Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI-UM) records document the founding of the organization, programming initiatives and descriptions since its beginning, and annual activities through its publications. OLLI-UM records consist of founding documents, correspondence, newsletters, flyers and pamphlets, programming materials, agendas, minutes, and a few photographs.

Division within the Office of the Vice President for Communications; comprised of Michigan Radio and the Michigan Channel and also responsible for content contributed to other outlet. Includes three seasons of Out of the Blue: The Michigan Difference, a program that originally aired on the Big Ten Network; also includes archived websites.

The Michigan Public Media records document the unit's operations and provide varied examples of its creative output. The materials will be useful to researchers interested in news and information about the University of Michigan as well as for those exploring how a major research institution communicates its mission and activities to the general public. The record group is comprised of the Out of the Blue series and the Archived Website series.

Pallab Bhattacharya is a Distinguished University Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department at the University of Michigan. Well-known for his breakthrough discovery of quantum dot formation, Bhattacharya's research focuses on semiconductors and optoelectronic devices. This collection documents Bhattacharya's work while at U-M, and includes awards, correspondence, course syllabi, assignments and examination materials, conference planning materials, patents, research proposals, and presentation materials.

The Pallab Bhattacharya papers are organized alphabetically and document Bhattacharya's work at the University of Michigan, as well as his research and participation in the wider engineering profession. Materials in this collection are comprised of awards, correspondence, course syllabi, assignments and examination materials, conference planning materials, patents, research proposals, and presentation materials.

The correspondence folder contains emails, letters, and memos on a variety of topics, including promotions, committee activities, lectures, research, and collaborations with colleagues.

The materials in the Paul McCracken Papers relate to his career as an economist and his tenure as a Professor at the University of Michigan's Business School. The collection includes correspondence, published papers, speeches, and newspaper clippings.

The papers of Paul McCracken have been arranged into ten series: Personal, Correspondence, Publicity and Speeches, U.S. Dept. of Commerce National Economic Unit, President's Council of Economic Advisors, Papers, University Notes, Visual Materials, Wall Street Journal, Sound Recordings, and OV Material.

Office responsible for administering Peace Corps programming at the University of Michigan. Collection consists of video and web content surrounding the fiftieth anniversary celebration in 2010 of the proposal of the Peace Corps at the Michigan Union by Sen. John F. Kennedy.

The Peace Corps Office (University of Michigan) records contain information about the unit as well as the role of the University of Michigan in the development of the Peace Corps.

The Publications series (1.0 linear foot) consists of two subseries: Unit Publications and Student Publications. The Unit Publications include brochures, bulletins, calendars, exhibition catalogs and student handbooks. Note that degree program requirements can be found in the Bulletin (Course Catalog) until 2001. Also note that the 1996 Bulletin covers the period from 1996 to 2001. After 2001, degree program requirements are contained within the Student Handbooks. Student Publications consist of catalogs and newsletters. Some publications (or their successors) may no longer be available in print but are available on the school s website.
