Papers of Douglas D. Crary (1910-2005), professor of geography at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor City Council member, and active participant in numerous civic and community affairs, particularly those related to development and planning. The personal papers of Douglas Crary reflect his public activities rather than his private life. The papers have been divided into nine series: Municipal Affairs, 1962-1976; University of Michigan, 1965; Political Affairs, 1964-1970; Huron River Watershed Council, 1965-1973; Community Activity, 1981-1988; Ann Arbor Planning Commission, 1965-1977; Clippings, circa 1965-1980, Miscellaneous local activities; and World War II activities.

Democratic member of the Ann Arbor City Council (Mich.); also member of the Ann Arbor Planning Commission, the Ann Arbor Development Authority, and the Huron River Watershed Council. The collection includes correspondence, reports, minutes, and other materials largely concerning her organizational activities.

The Eunice L. Burns collection primarily documents her activities in Ann Arbor government. The collection has been divided into five series: Ann Arbor City Council, 1962-68; Ann Arbor Planning Commission, 1968-74, University of Michigan Committee to Study Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, 1971-76; Downtown Development Authority, 1979-90; Huron River Watershed Council; and Miscellaneous.

Council was established in 1965 to promote and coordinate studies and plans regarding the water resources of the Huron River watershed. Executive committee files including minutes and agendas, reports and correspondence; also annual reports and financial statements, and newsletters and published research studies and reports.

The record group includes files of the executive committee consisting of minutes and agenda, reports, correspondence, and other materials relating to the activities of the Council. There are also annual reports, financial statements, newsletters, miscellaneous research studies and reports, and videotapes on water resource topics.
