Republican attorney general of Michigan, 1951-1954, general counsel of the Department of the Army. World War I letters, papers detailing work as chairman of the committee on emerging problems of the Michigan Constitutional Convention; miscellaneous genealogical material, and diaries and memoranda books; scrapbooks concerning political career, especially his service as state attorney general; and photographs.

Only a few papers survived Millard. Correspondence, most interesting for his letters written in France during 1917, and a small body of papers from his committee chairmanship at the 1961 state constitutional convention, highlight the collection. A large number of newspaper clippings about his career, and many awards and citations he received, are also available. A few items regarding his military career, his political activities and his membership in the Masons can also be found.

A large number of photographs and albums are also found in the collection. Included are five scrapbooks, 1955-1961, covering the period when Frank Millard was general counsel in the Department of the Army. These scrapbooks are 70-80 percent photographic, and the remainder consist of clippings, programs, correspondence, schedules and itineraries. Another scrapbook covers the years 1912-1914 when Millard was a student at the University of Michigan. It also contains three pages of earlier material dated 1901-1910. This scrapbook is more than half photographic in content with the rest consisting of programs, clippings, and memorabilia.

The Harry G. Gault scrapbook and loose materials contain dance cards; post cards; a hand-drawn portrait of what appears to be Gault (artist unknown); photographs of past U-M presidents (Angell and Hutchins), 1911-1912 freshman and sophomore games, Adelphi Club, the Eremites Club, the 1912 CAP Night event-a large gathering in which freshmen transitioned into sophomores by throwing their grey caps into a bonfireth, the Griffins, the Michigamua upper class all-campus honor societies, the Sphinx Fraternity, and the Senior Swing Out exercises which incorporates the first wearing of the cap and gown prior to graduation.

His scrapbook also contains photographs of U-M sporting events, dances, the 1915 Lit Class, the Michigan Daily editorial office, and the Phi Delta Phi House. Of note is a non-descript group photograph including Gault (seated 3rd from left) and what appears to be an unidentified man of color (standing 2nd row, 2nd from right). Additional materials include a May 1, 1913 Griffins initiation certificate; a 1915/1916 poster titled Comparative Standings of Sororities and Fraternities and their House Clubs; newspaper clippings, report cards, wartime correspondence, obituaries, and other memorabilia depicting student life at U-M.

The Alice Wiard Gault scrapbook and loose materials include dance cards; programs (including football programs); menus; ribbons; photographs of dances including the 1916 J-Hop, women students, sorority house interiors; report cards; invitations; personal notes; place cards; and ticket stubs. Other items to note include a November 9, 1912 handwritten speech from the 1915 Sophomore Toast (authored by Alice?); newspaper clippings including one titled Sisters Announce Engagement-announcing Wiard's engagement to Boy Kennnedy. The handwriting beneath reads: "As near as I ever came to the fatal step." The scrapbook contains additional memorabilia depicting her life at U-M.

University of Michigan student organization formed to build and manage a student union, sponsors a variety of social and service programs and activities, includes records of building and financial committees and various activity/organization files including the University Mimes and the Union Opera (later renamed MUSKET) and scrapbooks and photographs of Union activities.

The records of the Michigan Union measure 21 linear feet and 13 oversize volumes. The records date from 1890 to 1983, although there are some collected photographs dating as early as 1884. The collection has been divided into six series: Central Files, Activity/Organization Files, General Files, Photographs, Songs, and Board of Representatives.

Paul Cutler Showers was a journalist and freelance writer. His writing and editing days began through involvement with The Gargoyle and The Michigan Daily while attending the University of Michigan. Showers's papers document his lengthy journalism career through his writings, recollections, and correspondence regarding the Detroit Free Press, the U.S. Army's Yank Magazine, and the Sunday New York Times. Family history played an important role in his life and can be seen through his collection of family photographs, recollections, and stories. In his later years, Showers became a prominent children's author known internationally for his work with the "Read and Find Out" series of science books for beginning readers.

The Paul Cutler Showers Papers document the life of a writer and editor, a University of Michigan alumni, an avid genealogist, a World War II veteran, and a prominent children's author.

The arrangement of the papers maintains their original order of four series including Correspondence, Family History, Personal and Professional Papers, and Visual Materials. These are in alphabetical order except for the Personal and Professional Papers series, which follows its original chronological organization according to Paul Showers's career. The papers contain very little information about his work as a children's non-fiction author. This portion of his papers are within the Kerlan Collection, which is part of the Children's Literature Research Collections at the University of Minnesota.

History honors student and reporter for the Michigan Daily, student newspaper for the University of Michigan. Includes history honors thesis (and background material) "Urban Renewal in Postwar Detroit: The Gratiot Area Redevelopment Plan," material for a mini-course on student activism at Michigan, and material collected for newspaper stories relating to campus issues, especially affirmative action, and the related group, By Any Means Necessary (BAMN). Also material on Michigamua and Vulcans.

The Goodspeed collection is divided into two series: Academics and Journalism Topics. The collection consists primarily of printouts of reports and e-mail correspondence, flyers for campus events. There are also police reports, decisions from court cases, and material acquired through Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests.

University of Michigan senior honors society with initiation rites, costumes and other rituals based on supposed Native Amerincan traditions; records include chronological "tribe" files, minutes of meetings, topical files, visual materials, and printed materials.

The records consist of four linear feet, six oversize folders, and one oversize volume, and span the years from 1902 to the present. They document the activities of past Michigamua tribes, the role of the Old Braves within the society, and the development of Michigamua traditions. The records are divided into five series: Chronological Tribe Files, Meeting Minutes, Topical Files, Visual Materials, and Printed Materials.

Scrapbook and photo albums documenting Graham's life as student and athlete at the University of Michigan.

The Graham collection contains rich documentation of athletics and campus life in the first decade of the 20th century. The scrapbook contains clippings of newspaper accounts of football games and other athletic events; programs, posters, and tickets for musical, theatrical events and fraternity activities and variety of student memorabilia

The Photo album contains numerous pictures of the varsity team posed on campus and at pre-season training camp at Whitmore Lake and Ludington. The are many individual photos of players and coaches including Fielding Yost and Keene Fitzpatrick as well as a rare photo of the football training table. There are photos of baseball and track teams and athletes and of push ball and tug-of-war competition between classes. Campus social life documented in photos of J-Hop and other dances, fraternity houses and events, the campus "county fair" and other events including a minstrel show parade with cast members of a production of Uncle Tom's Cabin in which Graham played Little Eva. All of the images are carefully, often humorously, captioned by Graham. He always captioned photos of himself with a question mark.

The second photo album includes a few football images (duplicates of items in the first volume) and the appears to be images of Graham's family and friends.
