Records of the University of Michigan Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. The collection contains administrative and topical files of the Department, records of associated student organizations, photographs, and audio material. Of particular note is the extensive run of photographs (1908-1955) of photographs of the Cercle Français' annual French-language play.

The records of the Department of 77Romance Language provide some documentation of the administration of the department and several student organizations including Sigma Delta Pi, the Sociedad Hispanica and the Cercle Français. This record group is divided into five series: Department Administration, Faculty Information, Student Organizations, Topical, and Audio-Visual.

Battle Creek, Mich. historian and collector of rare books and manuscripts. Much of Lowe's research was devoted to the life and career of Black abolitionist Sojourner Truth. The collection contains material related to Sojourner Truth and includes biographies and bibliographies, book reviews, clippings, songs, images and photographs, etc. Other materials in the collection include letters of John G. Whittier, George W. Cable, correspondence of Lowe with writer Gerald Carson, diaries of Lowe's 1963 trip to Europe, as well as miscellanea and photographs.

The collection is arranged into two series. The Sojourner Truth (collected material) series includes biographies and compiled biographical information about Truth, bibliographies and book reviews, obituaries, tributes, newspaper articles, images of portraits, photographs, songs, and other information relating to the life of Sojourner Truth. Of special interest is a scrapbook that was kept by Frances Titus, Sojourner Truth's assistant.

Most of the Sojourner Truth files have been microfilmed except for a folder of material which came to the library after the 1965 filming. A few photographs that were microfilmed in 1965 were reported missing. These images are only available on the microfilm.

The Other Materials series contains items concerning Lowe's various activities and interests, including Battle Creek history and personalities, her travel diaries, and materials related to her friendship with writer Gerald Carson. Also included collected autographs and papers of individuals, including authors John Greenleaf Whittier and George Washington Cable. Also of note are letters of D. J. Van Schnell who wrote to members of the Oldfield family that contain watercolor drawings indicative of English life in the late 1930s and the early years of the World War II.

Organization of Michigan photographers; collected copyprints of historical images.

The collection consists of copyprints (with some negatives) of historical images collected by members of the Michigan Photographers Society. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by name of city where the collector lived. This is followed by descriptions of the images. The strength of the collection is for its visual documentation of various Michigan cities, including street scenes, businesses, private residences, views of ships, railroads, lumbering activities, and local customs.

Sister organization to the American Legion organization for Michigan veterans. The record group documents the Department’s administrative functions, its publications, and involvement with the Girls State government simulation program.

The record group of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Michigan documents the organization's annual meetings, history, fundraising, and affiliation with the Girls State program. The series are: Administrative Files, Publications, Historical Materials, Girls State, Topical, and Visual Materials.

Grandville, Kent County, Michigan, physician and public health official. Family and professional correspondence and other materials relating to his medical career, especially his education at the Detroit College of Medicine, private practice in Kent County, and work with professional organizations, including the Michigan State Medical Society and the Michigan Public Health Association; also material relating to his interest in the Reformed Church of Grandville; miscellaneous papers of father, Dirk Broek, and sister, Christina S. Broek; and photographs.

The Jacob Daniel Brook Collection reflects the activities of a man whose life was committed to the cause of medicine and public health. The collection has been arranged into four series: Correspondence, Professional and personal materials, Broek Family, and Photographs.

Division within the Office of the Vice President for Communications; comprised of Michigan Radio and the Michigan Channel and also responsible for content contributed to other outlet. Includes three seasons of Out of the Blue: The Michigan Difference, a program that originally aired on the Big Ten Network; also includes archived websites.

The Michigan Public Media records document the unit's operations and provide varied examples of its creative output. The materials will be useful to researchers interested in news and information about the University of Michigan as well as for those exploring how a major research institution communicates its mission and activities to the general public. The record group is comprised of the Out of the Blue series and the Archived Website series.

Institution representing the university faculty and providing an oppertunity for shared governance and a collective voice surrounding university conerns. Minutes, correspondence, committee files, publications, and institutional history.

The Senate (University of Michigan) records contains 12.4 linear feet (in 13 boxes) of correspondence, minutes, committee files, publications, and papers recording the history of the University Senate and its branches.

Episcopal clergyman at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Ypsilanti, Michigan; also local historian of Washtenaw County, Michigan

The Pennington papers relates primarily to his activities with the Washtenaw County Historic District Commission. Other materials concern general Episcopal Church activities in Inkster and Ypsilanti, Michigan. Of special interest are the historical research papers prepared by Pennington on Episcopal and Ypsilanti topics.

Material received with the 2014 accession mostly include records related to the St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Photographs relating to Detroit and to Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit.

The collection consists of copyprints made from color slides taken by Mark C. Stevens, secretary-treasurer of Elmwood Cemetery. Included are views of Detroit, the neighborhood around the cemetery, scenery within the cemetery, and gravestones, monuments, and markers. The collection also includes a transcript of commentary made by Stevens on each of the photographs.

Professor of speech and drama at the University of Michigan, 1904-1949; papers document Hollister's teaching and development of the speech and drama programs at the university, include correspondence, course material and lecture notes, papers and photographs relating to dramatic productions, and some family material.

The Richard D. T. Hollister papers, 1887-1960, document his career as a professor of speech and theater and the development of the Department of Speech and theatrical productions at the University of Michigan. Correspondents include: Thomas E. Black, Marion L. Burton, John R. Effinger, Edward H. Kraus, J. Raleigh Nelson, James M. O'Neill, Theodore Roosevelt, Alexander G. Ruthven, and Thomas C. Trueblood. The Hollister papers are divided into three series; Richard D. T. Hollister, Hollister family and Photographs.
