Active member of Ann Arbor, MI community, Lois Thompson McLaughlin was the daughter of the University of Michigan president James Burrill Angell and Sarah Caswell. The collection includes diaries from McLaughlin's trip to China, as well as correspondence and a newspaper clipping regarding her marriage to UM professor Andrew McLaughlin.

The Lois Thompson McLaughlin papers primarily consist of diaries and correspondence written by McLaughlin. The correspondence is mostly personal in nature. It includes childhood letters to McLaughlin’s aunts and uncles, as well as letters to friends during her time in China. Letters to McLaughlin’s father, James Angell, and mother, Sarah Caswell Angell, are found in the collection as well. Collection also includes three diaries dated 1880 to 1881, during which McLaughlin visited Peking, China with the rest of the Angell family. These entries offer descriptions of day-to-day events and activities, and even contain some of her drawings. One newspaper clipping is held in the collection with a detailed account of her wedding including the guests who attended, and the location of the ceremonies.

The Lola Jones collection consists of videotapes (mainly U-matic with some VHS copies) of her cable television program Another Ann Arbor, and of the documentaries that she produced. Another Ann Arbor, produced by Lola Jones, was an interview/discussion program hosted by Carole Gibson and featuring as guests locally and nationally prominent African American men and women.

The Lone Tree Council is an environmental organization founded in 1978 by citizens of Bay City, MI looking to prevent the Consumer Power Company nuclear construction. Since its inception the Lone Tree Council has focused on other environmental problems such as water pollution in the Saginaw Bay and Tittabawassee River. The collection mainly consists of collected reports from the Environmental Protection Agency and Dow Chemical Company, but also contains educational materials and press statements from the Lone Tree Council.

The Lone Tree Council records consist of materials collected by the organization in response to the dioxins found in the Tittabawassee River and the area surrounding Dow Chemical Company's Midland headquarters.

The Lorraine M. Gutiérrez Papers are comprised of 2.5 linear feet of materials that cover the years 1973-2007. These materials primarily relate to the teaching and research interests of Gutiérrez, Professor of Social Work and Professor of Psychology. The collection is divided into four series: Course Syllabi & Evaluations, Papers, Proposals, and Topical Files.

The Barritt collection is made up of materials accumulated by either Marjorie or Loren Barritt (or both) primarily relating to their property on what later became Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Smaller series document their involvement in nature and neighborhood preservation in Ann Arbor. The Barritt collection has been arranged into four series: Black Pond, Leslie Homestead Master Planning Committee, Bird Hills/Twining controversy, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Except for a scattering of correspondence and sermon notes, the bulk of the Davis collection relates to the Washtenaw County Pioneer Society and to the history of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County. Included is correspondence of Ezra and William S. Maynard, biographies of early pioneers, papers relating to the development of the temperance movement in Washtenaw County, the history of Northfield, Sylvan, and Ypsilanti Townships, Michigan; papers, 1881, concerning the First Congregational Church of Salem Township, Michigan; and papers, 1866, concerning the Ann Arbor Sunday School Convention.
