Minutes

The first series, the minutes file (1937-2005), originally consisted exclusively of minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors. In the 1960s, these files began including (in addition) minutes of various committees created by the board (e.g. Development Committee) and of meetings of the various houses. The series also contains bound volumes of minutes from the Board of Directors and the Education Committee. These may duplicate material found in the first part of this series.

Minutes

The Minutes series, 1937-1968, documents the weekly or bi-weekly meetings of the Eta Kappa Nu Beta Epsilon Chapter. These records focus on membership, initiation, constitution and by-law discussions, and events organized by the society. The minutes also report on interactions with the national organization and department collaborations, as well as other motions passed during society meetings. Finally, the minutes include names of members and initiates.

The Minutes Series (1.25 linear feet) consists of minutes from the various committees related to Counseling Services. The Staff Meeting minutes and the Coordinating Council minutes provide the best documentation of the overall scope of the Counseling Services office. Within the weekly minutes of these two committees, the researcher will find reports of the various programs and committees operating within the Counseling Office. The minutes of the Advisory and Policy of Care Committees illustrate the various ethical and operational questions confronting the staff in their attempt to meet the needs of the ever-changing student body. Lastly, the minutes of the University Committee on Student Counseling Services document the earliest years of counseling, the Office of the Coordinator of Counseling.
