The Monroe Brown Family Papers collection focuses on the Monroe Brown family history. The collections contains materials related to genealogical research the family conducted: family histories and biographical essays, newspaper clippings and articles, photographs, as well as materials related to the Van Buren County history. The Papers also include business records from Citizens Trust and Savings Bank, a business ledger with transactions dating to 1899, as well as two volumes with clippings of "Reports of the Conditions" of Kalamazoo area banks. Family papers also include materials related to the care of the Monroe family Lakeview Cemetery plots in South Haven, Mich.
There is a small number of records related to the Brown family's history at the University of Michiga, including a program from the 1982 Hall of Honor induction ceremony, a 1962 film "Spring Football Scrimmage," and newspaper clippings.

Items of interest include school reports, 1835-1883 and school census, 1914 and 1920; election registrations, poll lists and election returns, 1820-1888; highway assessment and tax records, 1819-1943; assessment roll of Milan township, Michigan, 1902, lists and abstracts of sales of state lands, 1860-1899; tavern permits, 1836-1838; abstracts of permits, occupations and new establishments, 1830-1840; bonds, 1822 and 1841-1892; drain survey, 1861; certificates of sales of swamp lands, 1867; census reports of Port Lawrence township (later part of Ohio), 1827, and Ida township, 1837; military lists,1869-1886; and contracts of Monroe County Detecting Society (vigilance committee) for 1848 and 1853.
The MORC Administrative and Publicity Files series consists of material produced by the organization and material written about the organization. The series includes annual reports and meeting minutes as well as news releases, pamphlets, brochures and other publicity material produced by MORC. Also included is an extensive collection of newspaper clippings of articles related to MORC and the community placement movement in general.

The Morgan family collection consists primarily of the personal and business papers of Elijah W. Morgan, one of Ann Arbor's pioneer citizens who had a distinguished career as an attorney and banker; letters and other materials of his wife Lucy Stow Morgan; and autobiographies and scattered papers of Elijah's parents, Elisha and Polly Babcock Morgan of Watertown, New York.
The bulk of the collection consists of the personal and business papers of Elijah W. Morgan. This includes correspondence (1821-1889), autobiographical material, essays on religion and temperance, and a large section of business and financial papers generated as a result of his law practice or his various business dealings.

The Morris Stuart Hall papers document the experiences of an officer in the Union Army during the Civil War as well as in its aftermath. In addition to direct observations and personal opinions, the collection provides insight into the role and perception of African American soldiers who fought in the war. The collection is organized into a single series, Military papers.

The records of the Michigan chapter of Mortar Board span the years 1906 to 2008, but consist primarily of materials from 1920 through 1956. The collection is organized under a single series; Administrative Materials.
The Administrative Materials series, 1906-2008 (0.5 linear feet), consists of organizational histories, annual reports, chapter and organizational governing documents, membership rolls, press clippings, as well as project, treasury, and presidents' reports. The years covered in this series are scattered, with the bulk of the materials covering 1920-1956.
A history and record book details the work of the organization and its membership from 1906 to 1956. The organizational histories trace Mortar Board's growth since its founding, and include annual reports for the following years: 1919-1923; 1926-1927; 1930-1935; 1938-1949; and 1951-1954. In addition to a historical narrative and annual reports, the organizational history also includes information on the organization's songs and ritual activities. The records also include membership rolls listing members for the years 1906-1948 and 1957-1962. The membership rolls for 1906-1913 are found in both a membership book, as well as in the organizational history. The presidents' reports, 1949-1956, detail activities during those years and include two photographs of Mortar Board members.

The Mortimer E. Cooley papers consists of correspondence, subject files, personal materials, and photographs detailing the professional career and activities of a distinguished engineering educator. The collection has been arranged into the following series: Correspondence; Topical Files; University of Michigan and College of Engineering materials; Genealogical and Miscellaneous; Arbitration, appraisal, and consultation files; Photographs; Naval Logs; and Testimonial and celebratory materials. Box 47 was eliminated during 2001 reprocessing.
