Biographical / Historical:

Right to Life-LIFESPAN is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to the anti-abortion/pro-life movement. Founded in November 1970 by Gloria Klein of Westland, Mich., who chaired the first meeting and eventually became the first president. Originally the organization was called People Taking Action Against Abortion (PTAAA), but it adopted the name of its newsletter - LIFESPAN - in 1973. It became affiliated with the National Right to Life Committee, and at the urging of the NRLC in the late 1970s, added "Right to Life" to the beginning of their name.

The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) is the oldest and largest national anti-abortion organization in the United States.
