Biochemist; professor of biological chemistry at the University of Michigan. Bernstein had appointments in the school of public health and the medical school. Research and teaching files relate in part to his research involvement in the PBB investigations in Michigan in the 1970s; also course materials, personal and biographical information, correspondence, and photographs.

Isadore A. Bernstein's papers relate largely to his involvements with biochemistry and his teaching and research at the University of Michigan and abroad. These interests are reflected both in his research files and his correspondence.
